About Global Hotel Discount
Global Hotel Discount is an independent travel guide about one thing: helping you get a better hotel stay for your money. We write practical guides on saving money on bookings, choosing the right neighbourhood or island, travelling with children and planning trips without unpleasant surprises.
What we do
- Explain how hotel and travel pricing works, in plain English.
- Help you choose where to stay, not just which website to book on.
- Point out the extra costs that are easy to miss: taxes, local levies, fees and add-ons.
- Keep our guides up to date and correct them quickly when something changes.
What we don't do
- We don't publish fake reviews, invented testimonials or made-up "deal prices".
- We don't claim to have stayed somewhere when we haven't.
- We don't take payment for positive coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled.
Who writes the guides
Our guides are written and checked by the Global Hotel Discount editors. We research using official tourism and government sources, transport operators and hotels' own published policies, and we say clearly when something varies by season, property or nationality. Read more in our editorial policy.
A note about this website's history
The globalhoteldiscount.com address has existed for many years. Earlier versions of the website were run by different people and are no longer online. This site has been under new ownership since 2026: every guide here is newly written, and nothing has been copied from earlier versions. Where an old page covered a similar topic, we now send visitors to our closest new guide.
How we make money
Over time we plan to earn small commissions when readers book through some of our links to booking and comparison sites. This never costs you more and never changes what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
